Welcome to the website of Daniel Host.

My photos spawned from a desire for freedom. A need to escape. An intrinsic yearning for busyness.

In the May of 2020, as the first wave of Covid still ravaged Sydney and the world, I was dealing with many mixed emotions. I knew it would not do for me to stay at home and wallow in them. So I started exercising, one of the few freedoms government regulations still allowed at that time.

Even after this Covid thing is over, I still walk and I still photograph the exquisit world around me.

Being physically active is envigorating.
Appreciating the small, beautiful things is refreshing.
And so I can remembering this life actually isn't as bad as some make it out to be.
